Inspired by watching the birds that we feed over the colder months, I have created a new piece of art in my "Simple Pleasures" series. Its a bit different from my usual pieces as I found the only way I could recreate the colours of the birds was using straight stitch. Each bird is created from hand printed fabric paper that I made & then stitched into. The background is created using sponged dye over cotton fabric.

It’s been a slow start to the year, work-wise which on the positive side has given me more time in the studio. I had a big clear out and have since been trying to focus on a new series of work centred on “Journey”. In addition to this, I have been slowly adding new pieces to my “Savouring Simplicity” series.

I’ve also spent a lot of time, trying to focus on what exactly I want for my business, Harlequin Arts, in the next few years, and I’m finding that really hard.
